People to see... Places to go...

Dr Patrick Dixon

Patrick is continuing to keep abreast of the future as it turns into yesterday. Find the details at his web site http://www.globalchange.com/

There are lots of video clips, more than 10,000 regularly updated pages and three entire books, containing over 20,000 hyperlinks on global trends ranging from e-commerce to human cloning.  This is a good place to see where we may be headed (or possibly have already arrived), helping us see the issues we must face as New-Millennium Christians. You can also join a mailing list (which is not all that frequent), so that Patrick can advise you of new stuff on the web site. Worth checking every month or so. [SGH]

Kings Communications

Kings Communications offer training, counselling and consultancy services for a wide range of settings. You can find details of the courses and services they offer at Kings Communications. [SGH]

The Association of Christian Counsellors

ACC aims to encourage high standards of training, competence and supervision in Christian Counselling. They provide all of the necessary training for accreditation at various levels. Find out more ath their web site.

Christian Medical Fellowship

Christian Medical Fellowship have a large membership and provide wide ranging information on most aspects of the medical fields and issues facing the Christians who work in them. A CD of the whole site is available for easy offline browsing or searching. There is a good range of information available on Alternative Medicine and other ethics issues.

The Hayes Conference Centre - Swanwick, Derbyshire

We have used The Hayes for many of our conferences. The facilities are good and reasonably priced, with a new block completed spring 1999, giving that bit of extra comfort and double beds.

The Evangelical Alliance

The Evangelical Alliance is involved in making Christian views known and heard in the public arena.

There is a very good section on Alternative Medicine which provides a good source of information. (See also the CMF website)

Workshop

Noel Moules has been running Workshop since 1983 and it continues to grow. They are offering this excellent training course at a number of sites this year, starting in September - details on their web site. Noel was the main speaker at the CiCP Annual Conference at Easter 1999, on the subject of THE COMMUNITY OF THE KING - A Call to Radical Christianity in the Heart of the Caring Professions. Tapes of the 4 main sessions and a workbook are available from the CiCP Office for £25. Contact the office for more information.

British Association of Christians in Psychology (BACIP)

The British Association of Christians in Psychology (BACIP ; previously known as the Network of Christians in Psychology, NeCIP) is a UK-based organisation for Christian professional and student psychologists in academic and applied settings. They have over 300 members representing qualified and trainee clinical, occupational, educational, counselling, and academic psychologists, in addition to secondary school psychology teachers and a strong contingent of undergraduate and graduate students.
